we zitten nu in het gebied van de Miao. deze etnische groep is vooral gekend voor zijn zilver.
hoewel het gehele dorp commercieel is opgezet, is het toch aangenaam om er rond te lopen.
je wordt verwelkomt met dans en gezang. als buitenlander kreeg ik ook baijiu ( sterke alcohol) aangboden uit de drinktuit dat de vrouw draagt. Mr P verklaarde mij gek dat ik het wou drinken. morgen ziek voorspelde hij . Het eten in het stadje is niet spectaculair maar ook niet duur. voor een bord gewokte rijst betaal je een 8 RMB. de houten huisjes, de rustige omgeving,... gewoon aangenaam vertoeven
nog een tip : je hoeft niet te betalen voor het busje naar het dorpje. het is absoluut niet ver stappen .
in kaili zelf is er een marktje met traditionele naaiwerkjes waar je oma s gedeeltelijk zelf genaaide spullen, gedeeltelijk machinaal geproduceerd werkjes.

een van de verkoopsters wou jinthes haar opknopen zoals het hare. maar met jinthes fijne haren, was het niet hetzelfde resultaat.

 in ons hotel spraken ze vloeiend engels ;-)
ik hoop dat de vertaler ondertussen al een andere job gevonden heeft.

we are now in the area of the Miao. this ethnic group is especially known for its silver.
although the entire village is commercially launched, it is still a pleasant place to walk.
they welcomes you with dance and songs. As a foreigner, I got baijui (strong alcohol) offered to be drunk from the spout that the woman wears. The food in the town is not spectacular but also not expensive. for a plate of stir-fried rice you pay RMB 8. the wooden houses, the quiet surroundings ... just pleasant to walk around.
another tip: you do not have to pay for the van to the village. it is absolutely not far to walk from the ticketscenter to the town.
in kaili itself  there is a market with traditional sewing work. grandmothers partially self-sewed stuff, partially machine-made work are selling for reasonable prices.
